Biography
Shih-Hau Fang received a B.S. from National Chiao Tung University in 1999, an M.S. and a Ph.D. from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 2001 and 2009, respectively, all in Communication Engineering. From 2001 to 2007, he was a software architect at Internet Services Division at Chung-Hwa Telecom, where he developed quite several earliest versions of voice/networking systems in Taiwan including 55135 (Mobile donation systems) and 4121111 (HiNet VoIP platform). Currently, most micro-payment mobile services in Taiwan follow the architecture he designed. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Communication Research Center in National Taiwan University in early 2009, doing research in the area of cognitive radio. In August 2009, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Yuan Ze University, where he is currently an Assistant Professor and leads the Wireless and Mobile Computing Research Group. Prof. Fang’s research interests span the area of mobile positioning and computing, cognitive radio, wireless networking and the theories of machine learning, pattern recognition and signal processing. He is a member of IEEE and IEEE Communications Society.
